Ascent from Darkness: How Satan's Soldier Became God's Warrior by Michael Leehan is a first-hand look into the battle that is raging around us all the time. While there are some that will find it hard to read Michael’s accounts, this is his true-life story of recovery from the dark side.
The book starts by telling the story of Michael’s initial fall into the darkness. From there Michael tells the story of how his life spiraled out of control and in to a life of loneliness and pain. The bookends with as the title suggest Michael’s ascent from darkness and the physical and spiritual struggle that accompanied that ascent.
I believe that this is a book that everyone should read to have at least a small understanding of the very serious nature of the forces of evil that are constantly battling against us. Also, I believe that this book shows a great picture of no matter how far away from God you may think you are God is always willing, and anxiously waiting to take you back. As well as showing that God can take something that Satan meant for evil and turn it around to bring you back to him.
Overall, I strong encourage everyone to read this book to learn from someone who experienced the powers of the dark side first-hand to understand the seriousness and the power of the enemy that we face.
